The Scholarship

Davis Family Foundation Scholarships will be awarded annually.  At the conclusion of the application period, the Board of Directors will review all completed applications that were received.

Students selected will receive a minimum of $1,500 USD (up to a maximum of $5,000 USD) to be forwarded to the college, school  or university of choice, and applied to educational costs.  Scholarships are paid annually for up to four years, as long as the recipient academically re-qualifies annually.

That's right, if selected as a recipient, you could receive your award amount every year for up to four years as you continue to earn your degree!

Minimum Qualifications

All Applicants MUST Submit
a Current & Official Transcript

One of the many ways we verify an applicants academics and GPA is by reviewing their official transcripts.  Without a transcript, your application will not be considered.  It is preferred that you submit your official transcript at the same time as your application by uploading the PDF file into your application; however, you can also email the official transcript thereafter if necessary.

The Board of Directors places additional emphasis on applicants that exhibit strong academic records and involvement in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program, Advanced Placement (AP) Coursework, Gifted Classes and/or Honors Classes.  There is usually a direct correlation between a student's drive in high school and their ability to succeed at a college or university.

All Applicants MUST Submit
a Personal Response Essay

On the actual application, applicants will find one short answer question and one essay prompt that they must respond to.  The short answer question should be answered within 1 to 2 paragraphs.

The essay prompt response can be of any length to get the point across; however, it is recommended to write between 1 and 2 full pages to fully express the thought and attempt to sway the Board of Directors.  The Board weighs the personal responses heavily as it gives a little insight into the applicant as a person and any potential adversity they may have overcome along their journey.

Please be sure to review the application in advance, gather your thoughts and information ahead of time, and only start completing the actual application when you have all your documents ready and are able to complete it in its entirety, (personal response essay as well) all within one sitting.
